From your President, Chairman, Treasurer & Secretary
A very convivial atmosphere prevails at this historic club, where absolutely everyone is welcome. As Richard said at the AGM, 2006 was a happy and successful year. The weather was generally kind, the grass played well and the influx of new members (seniors and juniors) also kept the Treasurer happy: how true!

Last season was productive in other ways, too. We now have two teams in the Mens’ 1st division of the County Championships, although sadly the Ladies were not quite as successful. However the Junior section (the real growth area) positively buzzes, with numbers having increased by one third. Aided by the arrival of floodlights, this group’s keenness is also showing through in the Monday and Wednesday late afternoon / early evening coaching sessions, under the enthusiastic leadership of Sheetal Pandya. Andy Lingley has done his part too, introducing a number of both senior and junior members with his daytime and weekend coaching. Our grateful thanks to them both therefore, as well as to Annie Clarke and Barbara Gebhard for their contributions.

Saturday afternoons were well supported by the senior members, aided no doubt by the scrumptious teas also provided. The annual Club Dinner at Great Shelford Memorial Hall was very successful, with a number of juniors again in attendance. For use throughout the year we also have a BBQ which is stored in the clubhouse.

Despite the growth over the last 12 months we still need additional numbers and ask that everyone makes a big effort in this connection. However the vibes for 2007 are most encouraging and we wish you well for the coming year.

Ian, Richard, Patrick and Fiona
