Message from the President, Chairman, Treasurer and Secretary: review of 2007
As Richard said at the recent AGM, the previous 12 months have been another happy and successful period in the long history of the Cocks & Hens, with friendliness and conviviality again to the fore. The weather was kind, as English summers go: the courts played well when we allowed to use them and whilst numbers of adult players remained about the same there was yet another increase in the number of juniors.

The 4 Mens, 4 Ladies and two mixed teams fought nobly but without quite matching the results of 12 months earlier. With one or two older players calling it a day we were delighted to seize this chance to “blood” some 15 Juniors into the senior teams, a policy which is very much here to stay. This enlightened attitude is essential for the longer-term development of our club and acknowledges the importance of the Junior section.

Saturday afternoons continue to be well supported, aided no doubt by the scrumptious teas also provided. For use throughout the year we also have a BBQ set available for use

We still need additional members (both adult and juniors) so ask everyone to make a big effort in this connection. The vibes though for 2008 are encouraging and we wish you well for the coming year.
